2007 Season bailiffs and members reports on fisheries
January
Although the cold
spell was making it difficult to get bites, club member Harry
Baker managed to find the fish in deeper water at Blunts
Mere, and landed a 10lb Common Carp on ledgered boilie, also
using a few boilies as loose feed.
A Personal best 20lb Common Carp fell to hair rigged luncheon
meat for Nicholas Barry at Cants Mere. (See photo gallery 4).
Another personal best 27lb 8oz Linear Carp was caught at Boreham
Main Mere by Darren Foster, he said he was well 'Chuffed' as
he only went fishing for a few hours. (See photo gallery 4).

A 23lb 8oz Mirror Carp personal best was one of 3 fish caught by
young Jack Pidgeon on a short 7 hour visit to Blunts Mere.
Dad Nigel who himself had 4 Carp to 14lb 12oz netted the cracking
fish for Jack. (See photo gallery 4). A soaking wet Valentines day
trip to Cants Mere for new member Bez Berry saw him land a
14lb Mirror Carp on float fished maggots, Bez who has not been
fishing for many years certainly got off to a great new start. (See
photo gallery 4).

May
Member Jon Deeney
got off to a very busy start to the new season by landing 22 Carp at
Blunts Mere. The largest fish weighed in at 20lb, also a
19lb, 2 x 14lb, and the rest 6lb - 8lb. All fish fell to boilies as
bait. A very enjoyable first visit to CAA waters proved also to be
very rewarding for new member Shane Higgins. With 30 Carp to 15lb
Shane could not fault the clubs Cants Mere fishery and is
looking forward to trying some of the clubs other venues
June
A personal best
15lb 8oz Common Carp was caught by member Kevin Muson at Cants
Mere using dog biscuit as bait. (See photo gallery 4). A quick
stop off at Wick Mere for a couple of hours before meeting a
friend at the Willows, produced 4 quality Common Carp for
member Dean Robinson. The fished weighed between 10lb 8oz and 13lb
all fish took surfaced fished dog biscuit. A 20 hour session on
Wick Mere produced 7 Carp for Kirk London, the largest fished
weighed in at 25lb 12oz (See photo gallery 4). Kirk ledgered a 2oz
Lead, using a size 8 hook on a 12" hook length, and Activ-8 bait.
Fishing a 3BB float and a size 8 hook produced a 15lb Common Carp
for member Joe Parsons. Joe caught his fish using Maggot bait at
Cants Mere. Free lined bread crust also helped Joe catch another
Carp 15lb 8oz, also at Cants Mere using 10lb line and size 6
hook. A switch of venues and Joe bagged a personal best ledgering
boilies at Wick Mere, the fish was a cracking 21lb 4oz Common
Carp. Wosit crisps did the trick for Ben Carpenter as he netted a
13lb 5oz Common Carp at Cants Mere. On another outing in June
Ben used dog biscuit to entice a 12lb 11oz Mirror Carp at Tufnell
Mere.
July
August
First ever visit
to Tufnell Mere for member Adam Morris produced a superb 12lb
2oz Mirror Carp. Andy Lyon (Crazy Carper) fished a 36 hour session
on the Point swim at Boreham Main Mere and landed 3 fantastic
Mirror Carp, 22lb 8oz, 26lb 12oz, and a personal best 31lb 10oz, all
fish fell to double boilies. (See photo gallery 4)
September
An Image fishing
rod and Daiwa reel accidentally fell into the Back Lake at Boreham,
if any member by chance hooks and lands them, would they please call
the club secretary Jay on 01376 519247 who will arrange to return
them to the young lad that lost them.
Another club member has reported loosing a 35mm camera either at the
Boreham Mere complex or Cants Mere, the camera is not valuable but
has sentimental value as it belonged to the members late Mother,
again please contact the club secretary if you have found it.
Female member and regular
visitor to Boreham Main Mere Philippa Raven has finally
landed her first 20+ Carp, The cracking Common Carp weighed in at
22lb 10oz and was caught from the Bottles swim. (See photo gallery
5)
James Searle also landed a personal best 25lb Common Carp at the
Reservoir Braxted fishing with ledged boilies.
