2008 Season bailiffs and members reports on fisheries

The only bite of the day resulted in a 20lb 9oz Pike for club member Steve Crocker, the fish took a Sprat dead bait at Boreham's Main Mere.

What a great start to the season for members Dave Godard and Bill Turley, between them they netted 86 Carp at Cants Mere to 15lb 13oz float fishing with Maggots (See photo Gallery 5). Member Simon Cherry emailed a photo of his dad Colin who managed a new personal best 28lb 4oz Common Carp on his first outing of the new season, the fish was caught at Blunts Mere. (See photo gallery 5). A personal best 20lb 10oz Common Carp was caught by James Boydell at the Front Lake at Braxted using floating mixer. (See photo gallery 5). Crazy Carper Andy Lyon has got off to a great start to the new season with 5 cracking double figure Carp from Boreham Main Mere. Andy's fantastic catch included to his delight a personal best 32lb 12oz Mirror Carp. (See photo gallery 5). Youngster Daren Cornwell's first visit to Boreham Back Lake with his dad resulted in him landing 15 Carp to 9lb, Daren says he is looking forward to his next outing. (See photo gallery 5). Blunts Mere has produced a 36lb Common Carp to member Terry Middleton on a hair rigged ledgered boilie, also a potential UK record Crucian weighing in at 4lb 12oz. Bailiffs are reporting Blunts is in very good form and plenty of fish are being caught.

Nicholas Barry landed a superb personal best 22lb 1oz Mirror Carp at Boreham Main Mere. On a further visit to the Main Mere he also caught a 20lb 7oz Mirror Carp (See photo gallery 5) Member Mitch Carter was well chuffed having landed just 45 minutes into a session, a 27lb Mirror Carp aka Clover at Boreham Main Mere. When member Nicholas Barry decided to swap swims after a non eventful stint in 'Suicide' swim on Boreham Main Mere, he was over the moon when he landed a personal best 26lb 1oz Common Carp after just a few hours from the 'Reeds' swim. (See photo gallery 6)
