In aid of the
Meningitis Trust Charity No 803016 |
| |
A
charity carp weekend was organised by members of Chelmsford Angling
Association, officials, friends and families. The event
took place at the club's Braxted complex and was held over three days, April13th, 14th,
and 15th 2007. As many as eight celebrity carp anglers attended
and fished at the event including Dave Levy, seen here with a
beautifully conditioned common carp. A total of £5000 was raised
over the weekend which will be donated to the Meningitis Trust. |

Jim Shelley for their support. Special thanks to all our anglers who

Thanks
to chairman Ian Stokes for speech and drawing grand raffle.
The event was initially inspired
by hearing about two of our members, Gavin Sutton (Bailiff at
Braxted) and Stefan reed who both have daughters who have been
affected by the devastating disease, meningitis. The weekend saw
some good fish. The largest was a 38.5 lb common carp from the
back lake caught by Terry Wilkinson who was fishing with Mike Kavanagh.
Ian Chilcott had three twenties from the front lake. Mike Kavanagh
had a nice mirror from the back lake. Several nice commons came out
the reservoir, biggest being 26lb plus. |

The
Chelmsford Angling Association would like to thank all those who
helped to make the weekend successful and for giving up their time
to assist in organising the refreshments, raffle tickets etc. A big
thank you to the Environment Agency, seen here putting
on a superb display, and offering advice and information to
visitors.
A massive selection of raffle prizes were donated to the event which
in fact took more than an hour to draw.
Thank you to all those above that donated prizes. |
