Many
members enjoy fishing matches organised for Club members only.
Matches are designed to create both a social and competitive
atmosphere, the winner receiving a trophy, which is returned at the end of the year, and a
replica which they keep. Pools are kept to minimum and are
always optional. Points are awarded at each match with a trophy
for the most consistent angler. Matches are usually held on a
Sunday, but some, including a Summer League, are held on
Saturdays.

The Match
Group organise the Club competitions and spearheads the Club’s
representation in the NFA National Championships and local
leagues. Each member has the opportunity to prove his
capabilities and compete for a place in the Chelmsford team. Any
member interested in representing CAA should make themselves
known to the Match Secretary as early as possible. Recent
successes include: winning the NFA Easter Region Shield 1992,
NFA National Division 3 Championships 1993, Essex Inter-Club
League 1994, NFA Individual Champion (S.Joy) 1995.
